Daniel Vigneault has always had a great interest and a desire to exercise the luthier and guitar repairman profession. He has pursued this dream after a prosperous career in electronic sales. His interest in the profession sprung from a curiosity and a passion for vintage American guitars from the 1940 to 1970 "golden era". He has conducted extensive research into guitars of the Gibson, Fender, C.F. Martin, Gretsch and other brands, in order to discover, learn and integrate their most intricate construction details. He has therefore acquired and excellent knowledge and expertise of these instruments over the years. The year 1993 was a turning point in Daniel's life, when his passion for stringed instruments has enticed him to pursue the luthier and guitar repairman trade as a career. He registered for luthier's school at CEGEP Édouard Montpetit, in Longueuil, where he completed a luthier's college degree, with a strong emphasis on guitar building and restoration, whether it be for electric, acoustic or classical instruments. Daniel even took the opportunity that was offered to him to extend his stay in college, in order to benefit from an enhanced exposure to many complex types of restorations and repairs techniques. Heavily guided by two of his then professors, he quickly acquired an experience and expertise that proved him a worthy tradesman. Daniel Vigneault set up shop two years into his tenure at the College. His specialty today still remains the repair, restoration and modification of electric guitars and basses, as well as the repair, restoration and modification of acousitc and classical instruments. He also does set-ups on instruments for the most demanding musicians. After more than 20 years of experience in the trade, Daniel Vigneault is still infused with the same care and passion that brought him to the luthier profession in the first place: He strives to provide his clientele with the best possible service he can offer. In fact, he has become the "go-to" guy for a lot of professional and amateur musicians. His goal his to satisfy the most discriminative customers, keeping in mind that it is worth addressing all details and issues in order to achieve the best possible compromise on every single instrument coming through his shop. He is renowned for the precision of his work when addressing an instrument. Daniel is a very personable and amicable fellow. He will be pleased to discuss with you about your next restoration or repair project, getting your instrument to achieve its full potential, whether it be a heirloom instrument or on a working tool. Daniel Vigneault will take all your requests into consideration, and will provide you with the best possible solution for your personal instrument. |
